Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium Powder 1.5kg – Biologically Ideal Supplement

Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium Powder 1.5kg – Biologically Ideal Supplement

Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium is a high-purity powder formulated to deliver magnesium in a biologically available form that mimics the natural ratios found in seawater. Magnesium is the third most abundant element in seawater and is critical for the health of a reef aquarium. Its primary role is to prevent the chemical precipitation of calcium and carbonates, allowing these essential minerals to remain available for coral calcification. Without sufficient magnesium, maintaining stable calcium and alkalinity levels becomes nearly impossible, leading to stunted coral growth and poor tank stability.

Enhanced Stability & Natural Ionic Balance

Unlike standard magnesium salts, Bio-Magnesium includes all 70 trace elements found in natural seawater to ensure your water chemistry remains balanced and supportive of life.

• Balanced Formula: Delivers magnesium while maintaining the natural ionic balance of the water, preventing the "ionic drift" often caused by using only magnesium chloride or sulfate.

• Optimized for Calcification: Acts as a stabilizer for calcium and alkalinity, ensuring stony corals (SPS/LPS) and coralline algae can easily build their skeletons.

• Natural Trace Element Inclusion: Every dose includes the 70 trace elements naturally present in seawater, providing a comprehensive boost to the entire ecosystem.

• High Purity Standards: Free from nitrates and phosphates, ensuring that you are only adding the essential minerals your tank requires without feeding nuisance algae.

• Excellent Solubility: The crystalline powder is engineered to dissolve quickly and cleanly, making it easy to incorporate into your regular maintenance routine.

  FAQ Section: Common Questions

  • How do I dose Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium? Use the included measuring spoon to level off the powder. Sprinkle one level scoop directly onto the surface of the water in a high-flow area (like a sump) for every 20 L (approx. 5 US gallons).

  • What is the recommended magnesium level? For a thriving reef, aim for a magnesium level between 1250 and 1400 mg/L. It is essential to test your water before dosing to determine the specific needs of your system.

  • Does it affect alkalinity? Bio-Magnesium is formulated to be ionically balanced; however, its primary purpose is magnesium replenishment. If you need to raise alkalinity specifically, consider using it alongside Tropic Marin® Bio-Calcium.

  • Why can't I mix it in a separate container first? It is designed to be added directly to the tank (or sump) as a powder. Mixing it into a concentrated liquid in a separate container can cause some of the trace elements to precipitate out, making the supplement less effective.
