Knitting Smyrna carpets is based on a very old Greek tradition and is still a beloved knitting technique, even after hundreds of years. Prym's lockable latch hooks for rug making are the ideal tool for this handicraft. As soon as the tip of the latch hooks are passed through the embroidery canvas, the hook's latch automatically opens. This allows for the thread to be inserted and drawn through the embroidery canvas. The hook closes itself automatically during the process, preventing the thread from slipping. Both latch hooks for Smyrna and fine Smyrna are equipped with a wooden handle, therefore allowing you to work comfortably. Prym's lockable latch hooks for rug making are the ideal tool for this handicraft.
