The best of the open-pollinated varieties. Produces higher yields with tighter tips than the original Mary Washington; same outstanding flavor. Not high-heat tolerant, so be sure to cut spears on the short side. At temperatures over 70F, taller spears may become tough and woody.
- Each offer includes 10 jumbo grade bareroots. These are 3 year old bare roots and can be lightly harvested after the first year.
- Mow plants down after the foliage has turned brown.
- Adaptable to a wide range of soils as long as soil is well-drained
- Space plants approximately 12 in. to 18 in. apart for best results
- Hardy in USDA zones 3 to 8
