12ft long taper for maximum stealth
Our preferred leader for technical dry fly fishing
Delicate presentations to wary trout
Ideal for spring creeks, clear rivers and calm water
The Frog Hair 12ft Spring Creek Tapered Leader is built for the most technical trout fishing situations, where stealth, finesse and presentation are everything. With a long 12ft taper and extra supple butt section, this leader is designed to land lightly, protect fine tippets and deliver a single dry fly with minimal disturbance.
The added length keeps more fly line away from the fish, making it ideal for clear water, shallow flats, smooth glides and heavily pressured trout that inspect every detail. Where shorter or more aggressive leaders can spook fish, this leader helps you stay subtle and in control.
Its supple construction promotes smooth energy transfer and fine turnover, allowing accurate casts with small dries while still maintaining enough control to form neat loops and place the fly precisely.
Built from Frog Hair’s premium material, these leaders also offer excellent knot strength, toughness and built-in shock resistance despite their finesse-focused design.
Finished with a perfection loop for quick changes, this is a specialist leader for anglers who understand how much presentation matters.

Why We Rate It
When trout are spooky and conditions are calm, presentation becomes everything. This leader gives you the stealth and finesse needed to fool fish that reject heavier or shorter setups.
Who is this for?
Dry fly anglers targeting wary trout on spring creeks, tailwaters, clear streams and slow pools where subtle presentation and keeping line away from the fish is critical.
