Title: Axiom
Artist: Boddy, Ian
Label: Din Records
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 5028423200642
Genre: Electronic
DiN label boss Ian Boddy has been releasing music since 1980. In the last 40 years he has seen Electronic Music grow and evolve beyond recognition. From analogue/modular synthesis to completely digital and back again. The six tracks on "Axiom" reference Boddy's musical routes with it's pulsating sequencer passages that hark back to the Berlin School of Tangerine Dream, most especially on the track "Nitro". The self referential track "Boddy Love" is an in-joke with a nod to a classic 70's Klaus Schulze album which features gorgeous melodic lines that grow to a climax before fading into the distance. "Icon" with it's subsonic bass throb and orchestral strings climbs to a sonic summit before crashing down to the sublime piece "The Fallen". Closing out the album, the title track bookends the opener "Omicron" with a slice of Synthwave that has it all: analogue sequences, vintage drum machines and soaring chords.
