Bad Rhymes, No Reason: Reflections, Ramblings & Rantings of a Rancorous Stroke Survivor

"Bad Rhymes No Reason" details Simon Charles Barton's post-stroke journey over an 8-10-year period through a series of quite random, risible, rhyming reflections. Simon chronicles his ultimate pursuit for the discovery of a new self and life-purpose, taking readers on a light-hearted and self-poking examination of the joy's and pitfalls of the healing process. Featuring more than 50 original poems, "Bad Rhymes No Reason" examines such themes as navigating family discussions post-stroke in "Reticence," the necessity of nurses in "Angels," and self-renewal in"Reinvention." Throughout, Simon delights readers with whimsical rhymes and heartfelt messages. Part poetry, part biography, part memoir, "Bad Rhymes No Reason" reminds us of the people, places and poems which are integral to each of our own healing processes. Read more
